During the May 2023 Tampa Audubon Society Membership Meeting on May 4, members elected a slate of officers presented by the Board of Directors of the Tampa Audubon Society. The meeting was at the Tampa Garden Club.
Elected to the board were: Jessica Parrish as vice president; Jim Hengelbrok, Jonathan Hoiles and Mic McCarty as board members serving a two-year term; and Logan Lane, serving a one-year term.
Current board members and officers not up for election this spring due to the staggered terms for officers outlined in our Tampa Audubon Bylaws are Ann Paul, president; Sandy Townsend, secretary; Michelle Hoffman-Wrobel, treasurer; and Mary Keith, Sherry Keller, and Lucy Polack, all serving their second years of their two-year terms.
One Board of Director position remains open, as Doug DeNeve has notified us he is moving out of state this summer and won’t be able to serve as a board member. We wish him well and want to express our gratitude and appreciation to him for his many years of service to Tampa Audubon as a board member, Conservation Committee co-chair, field trip leader and bird survey coordinator for the Rock Ponds Ecosystem Restoration Project in southeast Hillsborough County, among other activities. Best wishes for all the best to you and your wife, Pam, in your new habitat!
Thanks to our Nominating Committee members – Jim Hengelbrok, Sherry Keller and Ann Paul, for developing the slate of officers to propose to the Board of Directors and the members of the Tampa Audubon Society. Congratulations to our elected board members. We are grateful for your willingness to serve the Tampa Audubon Society and your commitment to it.
By Ann Paul, President
