July Photo Club Meeting and May Recap

Updated: Jun 22

By Jonathan Hoiles, Photo Club Leader

Join on Zoom, July 18, 7 pm

In May, the Photo Club had a nice discussion about migrating birds, and many of you shared some wonderful photos. In July, our theme will be “The Importance of Water for Birds.”

Just like us, birds need water to survive. Clean water is not only necessary for drinking, but it is also used by birds for preening and removing parasites. Large bodies of water provide protection from predators, and marine habitats are an important source of food for many birds.

In July’s photo session, feel free to share photos of birds interacting with water. Let’s get a variety of birds too – waterfowl, shorebirds, songbirds and more are welcome!

The meetings are virtual and the Zoom link changes monthly – check your newsletter every month for the correct link.

To participate:

• Upload your photos to SmugMug hereSend them at least 24 hours before the meeting.

• Limit your photos to about eight, or what can be shown in five minutes.

• Photos must be JPGs. Do not include them in Word, PowerPoint or any other file format.

• Label the beginning of each photo file with your name, such as Smith_Spoonbill, Smith_Warbler

• Be ready to tell us about your photo during the meeting.
